Bonney Lake Police Blotter, Jan. 23 - Jan. 31

A three-car accident due to DUI, prescription forgery and a mentally unstable student are all highlighted in this week's police blotter from Bonney Lake.

Jan. 23

DUI/Collision

5:41pm: Officers were dispatched to a three car collision on the 21300 block of SR 410. A Jeep hit a car stopped at a stoplight and that car hit the car in front of them due to the impact. The driver of the first car hit is a captain in the Washington State Patrol and his passenger was a detective with WSP. The captain suffered neck injury and was treated. When police contacted the driver of the Jeep, they immediately smelled a strong mouth wash odor from within the vehicle. The man’s eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred; he admitted to drinking “three beers” before driving. About four hours later, the man was booked into custody at the Bonney Lake police station and blew a .162 in his first BAC.

Jan. 28

Prescription forgery at

2:36pm: Officers responded to a report of a prescription forgery in progress at Fred Meyer. Dispatch advised that a female was attempting to have her prescription filled and the issuing doctor notified the pharmacist that the prescription was forged. The woman said she went to Enumclaw Medical Center the day before and couldn’t remember the name of the doctor she saw, but that she received four prescriptions, including one for Endocet, which is a generic version of Percocet. The doctor confirmed he saw her, but that he did not give her any prescriptions for narcotics. The woman was booked at Pierce County Jail for one count prescription forgery.

Prescription forgery at

7:12pm: Officers were dispatched to Safeway for a fraud in progress at the pharmacy. Dispatch advised that the suspect had a felony warrant for violation of the uniform controlled substance act and for second-degree possession of a firearm. The pharmacy employee said that the man had tried to fill a prescription of 30mg Oxycodone, and that she knew he had forged prescriptions before. She called his prescribing doctor, who said that the prescription was indeed forged and that he had gotten multiple calls from other pharmacies. The doctor believed the man might be part of a bigger drug ring. Officers located the man near the pharmacy, and immediately placed him under arrest for forgery and his felony warrants.

Student involuntarily committed after hearing voices

11:37am: A student at went into the assistant principal's office and asked if it was normal for someone to be having hallucinations. The JUV said he was hearing voices and that he had just seen his dead grandmother walking through the halls of the high school. He said he felt delusional and was unaware if he had been awake at all this past weekend. He said he thought he had things crawling all over his arms and that he had been cutting himself because he didn’t want to live anymore. The JUV tried to leave when security said they were calling his mother, and the student was placed in handcuffs. He was involuntarily committed after refusing to cooperate. The student had been involuntarily committed once before while he was a student at Mountain View Middle.
