Bonney Lake Police Blotter: Malicious Mischief at the Water Tower, Residential Burglary

The following arrest information from Nov. 30 - Dec. 5, 2011 has been supplied by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 29, 2011

Theft

A man came into the Bonney Lake Police station to report a theft from his residence. He said he left his pants in the bathroom, with his wallet in the pocket containing multiple ID and credit cards. His friend stopped by his house with someone he didn’t know, and after they left, the man put his pants back on and realized his wallet was stolen. He was also missing some diabetic testing supplies. His friend could not be contacted because he was currently homeless and living in the WSU forest.

Police picked up the man later in the day on 214th Ave. E. He claimed to not know the man and denied taking anything. He did not have any of the missing items on his persons and was released.

Malicious Mischief

Police were dispatched to the city of Bonney Lake water tower on the 19800 block of 106th St. Ct. E. for a report of malicious mischief. The man said an unknown person threw his equipment for work off the top of the tower and damaged it.

He told police that the day before, he had finished working and secured his gear on the top of the tank using ropes and anchor plates. He returned the next morning and found his gear on the ground. Someone had climbed over the barbed wire and climbed over the tower, knocking the items over. Damage to his equipment totaled over $500.

The man said he already contacted the City of Bonney Lake and advised that extra security was needed in the area. Police supplied him with a case number for follow up.

Dec. 3, 2011

Residential Burglary

Police were dispatched to a home on the 10200 block of 218th Ave E. for a residential burglary. The woman said she had been watching the residence for her brother during the last few weeks while he was in Buckley Jail. She received a call from the owner of the trailer park that morning and was told that an unknown suspect had been seen at the back door and window of the residence. She arrived to find the back door pried open and several items were stolen, including a Samurai sword, flat screen TV and game system.

Police gave her a case number for follow up but there are no leads.

Dec. 5, 2011

Assualt

Officers responded to 97th St. E. for a subject attempting to repossess a vehicle where weapons were involved. They arrived to find a man sitting inside a Volkswagen that was secured to a tow truck.

He exited the vehicle and told police he was in his house when he saw someone outside attempting to tow his car so he went to get into it. He said the man assaulted him and that his dad came out of the residence and sprayed mace in the man’s face.

The man attempting to tow the truck was barefoot and had a wet T shirt and hair from the mace. He told police he had an order to repossess the man’s car and was hooking it up when the car owner approached him. He observed the man grab a knife from the glove compartment. Then, the dad came out, threw a rock at him and sprayed mace in his face.

None of the men wanted to press charges but the case was sent to the prosecutor for follow up. Police were unable to find the knife or rock during the assault.

Police gave the woman a theft inventory sheet and a case number for follow up.
