Bonney Lake Police Blotter, September 9-15

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Sept. 9

Obstruction of Justice

11:36 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the New Peking Bar on State Route 410 on the report of a fight in progress between a large group of suspects outside. When the four officers arrived, the fight was broken up and the subjects involved separated.

A witness contacted one of the officers in the parking lot and pointed out a man who was walking away, and he said was involved in the fight and may have assaulted a female in the bar. The man was detained without incident. The man was intoxicated and told the officer he was involved in the fight.

The man was apprehended behind a trailer in the drive-thru and handcuffed. A computer check revealed outstanding warrants for him. He was later booked into Buckley Jail for Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer. The first male was booked for Disorderly Conduct.

Sept. 10

Missing Person

12:55 p.m.: Officers were called to a residence on 113th Street Court East for a report of a possibly suicidal missing adult. The woman at the home said that her husband had just left after threatening suicide. After he left the residence, the couple exchanged several text messages in which the man stated that he was going to kill himself.

The woman said that she had just told her husband that their marriage was over, and that while he had not elaborated on how he planned to kill himself, there were several firearms locked up in the residence. A missing-person report was filed with police and unsuccessful attempts were made to “ping” the man’s cellphone.

2:40 p.m.: The woman called saying that AT&T had received a ping on her husband’s phone from a location in Puyallup. An officer was dispatched to the site, but no one was there.

6:05 p.m.: Officers were called back to the couple’s residence after the man returned home with plans to kill himself there. The woman then called 911, and he left again. After officers arrived, the woman decided to leave her home, and asked officers to take the firearms with them for safekeeping.

During a record check on the guns, one of the three returned with a possible stolen record, based on the serial number, from the Yakima Sheriff’s Office from 1985.

9:20 p.m.: Officers responded to the couple’s residence and found the man had returned home. He was cooperative and willing to talk to officers. The man said he no longer wanted to commit suicide, and voluntarily went with East Pierce Fire & Rescue to Western State Hospital for evaluation.

Sept. 12

Felony Warrant

3 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Safeway to handle a shoplift of non-prescription medications from the pharmacy. Two men were reported to have been involved, but further information was not provided about the second suspect.

One of the officers and the store manager watched the video surveillance and discerned what the two men were wearing, and shortly after, the second suspect was detained on the east side of the building.

The manager was asked where the witness to the theft was, and he said the person had left the store and that he had no further information about the situation. The manager also said that officers should not worry about the theft since no one had witnessed it.

The suspect detained outside was determined to be wanted for an outstanding felony warrant out of the Department of Corrections. The suspect had a pipe in his pocket commonly used to smoke marijuana, but the man stated that he did not have any with him. The suspect said the person in the store with him was a juvenile and that he did not know where he was.

The suspect was booked into the Enumclaw Jail on the DOC warrant.

Sept. 14

Theft

9 a.m.: A Bonney Lake resident reported that his mailbox had been damaged and his mail stolen. The resident said that a U.S. Postal Service worker contacted his residence and said that she did not want to leave his mail in the damaged mailbox.

The resident said that it looked like his mailbox had been struck with a bat or a vehicle, and that he was unable to find any of his mail. The resident said that he was not expecting anything “special” in the mail.

Domestic Dispute

1:13 p.m.: Officers were called to the scene of a physical domestic dispute on North Vista Drive East. The caller said that her child’s father was chasing her in the street and trying to take their child out of the residence.

The father said that his son’s mother had gotten angry and taken the child. The mother said that she then chased the father down the street to reclaim the child, and that the father had taken her cellphone.

There was no parenting plan in place for the child, and it was determined that neither subject had committed a crime. The father left and the mother returned to her residence.
