Bonney Lake Police: Man Breaks Arcade Game and Steals Part as Souvenir, Thief Pilfers Box of Lobsters

The following information from Aug. 13 to Aug. 19 was provided by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 13, 2013

Keys Found: A citizen turned in a woman's shirt - black in color - and a set of keys found on the 6400 block of West Tapps Highway.

Shoplifting: Police arrested a 16-year-old male for stealing three bottles of beer from Safeway at about 12 p.m. Officers reviewed surveillance and were able to locate the vehicle he was seen fleeing the scene in at Allan Yorke Park. The suspect was detained shortly after. He was booked for third-degree theft and minor in possession of alcohol at Remann Hall.

Aug. 15, 2013

Commercial Burglary: A suspect broke into Midtown Grill at about 5:30 a.m. and stole a box of lobsters. Police were reviewing surveillance video of the suspect, described as a white male wearing a black sweat shirt with white lettering and a black hat with a white logo on the front.

Shoplifting: A man reportedly attempted to steal a bottle of whiskey from Safeway at about 7:50 p.m. but was stopped by an employee who was able to break his grasp on the bottle – it broke on the ground – before he fled the scene.

Hit and Run: Police cited a man for hit and run and for following too close after responding to the 21300 block of SR 410 at about 9 p.m. The victim followed the suspect vehicle after it had rear-ended him to a location where officers met him. The suspect admitted to striking the vehicle and leaving the scene.

Aug. 16, 2013

Theft: A man reportedly broke a punching bag attached to an arcade-style game at Babalouie's and declared he would keep it as a souvenir before walking off with it. Staff said it'd cost about $200 to replace.

Property Damage: A woman reported her car was keyed and trunk dented, and profanities etched into the vehicle doors while it was parked at Allan York Park between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. that day.

DUI: Police arrested a man for DUI after observing he was driving erratically from Church Lake Road E onto Veterans Memorial Drive before he was stopped at about 9:30 p.m.

DUI: Police arrested a man for DUI after observing he was driving erratically from 216th Avenue E onto eastbound SR 410 at about 10:30 p.m.

Aug. 17, 2013

Hit and Run: Police cited a man for inattentive driving and hit and run after receiving a report from a juvenile that his vehicle was struck at about 1:30 a.m. on 67th Street E at West Tapps Highway. The juvenile followed the vehicle long enough to record the vehicle's license number and the officer was able to respond accordingly.

DUI: Police arrested a man for DUI after receiving multiple reports at about 10:50 a.m. that he was driving erratically on eastbound SR410. He was booked on three misdemeanor DUI warrants and charges of DUI, driving while license suspended and violation of ignition interlock requirement were being forwarded to the felony prosecutor.

DUI: A 16-year-old teen was arrested for DUI after he was seen smoking marijuana while driving on eastbound SR410 at about 5:50 p.m. The reporting party indicated he had nearly rear-ended another vehicle earlier and the responding officer also noted he appeared impaired.

Aug. 18, 2013

Argument and Warrants: Police arrested two people in the Walmart parking lot at about 7:50 p.m. after receiving a report they were in a possible physical altercation. After verifying the argument was verbal only, records showed both individuals had outstanding warrants and were subsequently taken into custody for those warrants. A child in the car with them, whose mother was shopping at the time, was allowed to stay with his mother though she also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. She was not arrested but her driver's license was revoked.   

Aug. 19, 2013

Drugs, Weapon Violation: Police arrested two people after responding to Sonic Drive-In at about 3 p.m. on a report that they smoking pills in one of the parking stalls. The driver was revealed to have a warrant out of Buckley and taken into custody. The passenger reportedly resisted police and was found to have a loaded handgun when he was assisted out of the vehicle by officers. He was arrested on a Department of Corrections felony warrant for escape from community custody, felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
