Bonney Lake Police: Man Slumped at Wheel was DUI, Vehicle Going Wrong Way Impounded, and Home Burglarized

The following information from June 14 to June 24 was provided by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

June 14, 2013

Shoplifting: Police cited a woman for attempted shoplifting after responding to Walmart at 2:45 p.m.

Obstruction: Police impounded a vehicle for parking in a ‘no parking’ area of Lake Bonney’s boat around 2 p.m. after following it from the 18200 block of 74th Street East because it was going the wrong way on a one-way street. The driver evaded police and did not stop for emergency lights. When officers found the vehicle, it was unoccupied. The registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license as well as an outstanding warrant.

Bike Found: A citizen reported at 12:58 p.m. a bike was left on the 8100 block of Myers Road. It was a Pacific Quasar bicycle but had not been reported stolen. It was taken into police property.

DUI: Police arrested a woman for DUI after a traffic stop on the 9300 block of 192nd Avenue East at about 7:45 a.m. for expired tabs.

DUI: Police arrested a man for DUI after responding to a report of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road on the 19400 block of 67th Street court East at 1:05 p.m. A witness reported the driver was slumped at the wheel and unconscious. The responding officer was able to wake the driver..

Residential Burglary: Police responded to a home on the 7900 block of 201st Avenue Court East at 3:29 p.m. The resident reported being away from the home from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and when she returned found several items including two televisions, a Blue Ray player, medication and jewelry missing from her home. There were no signs of forced entry though the house was not entirely locked up.

Shoplifting: Police cited a woman for third-degree theft after responding to Walmart at 6:49 p.m. for a report of attempted theft.

Assault: Police cited and released a woman for fourth-degree assault after responding to a home on the 20100 block of Church Lake Drive at 9:55 p.m. A second woman accused her of choking her and punching her in the left eye with a closed fist.

June 20, 2013

Shoplifting: Police cited a man for third-degree theft and arrested him on a warrant after responding to Safeway at 9:45 p.m. for a report he tried to shoplift beer and pizza.

June 21, 2013 

Theft from Vehicle: Police responded to the 9900 block of 182nd Avenue East at 10:59 a.m. for a report someone broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole a laptop computer, digital camera and check book. The theft occurred between 10 p.m. the previous night and 10:56 a.m. that morning. The rear passenger door had been pried open.

Vandalism: Police responded to Walmart at 9 p.m. for a report that someone had spray painted graffiti on a light pole in the parking lot. The graffiti was sprayed in red paint and read ‘ener.’

June 22, 2013

Theft from Vehicle: Police responded to the Home Depot parking lot for a report that a purse was stolen from a parked vehicle. The victim reported leaving the vehicle there at about 10:45 a.m. to enter the store. When she returned, she noted the door was unlocked and her purse was gone. There were no signs of forced entry.

Trespassing: Police arrested a woman for an outstanding warrant after responding to a property on the 19200 block of 113th Street East at 8:11 p.m. for a report of trespassers.  She was also cited for first-degree criminal trespass.

June 23, 2013

DUI: Police arrested a man for DUI following a traffic stop on 176th Avenue East at Summit Drive shortly after 2 a.m. due to erratic driving. He was cited for DUI and third-degree driving while license suspended and received a notice of infraction for improper lane travel and failing to provide proof of insurance.

Shoplifting: Police cited a man for theft and trespassed him from Rite Aid after responding to a shoplifting call at 1:09 p.m. The suspect reportedly attempted to steal a cell phone charger. 

June 24, 2013

Counterfeit: Police received a report from Jack in the Box at 12:11 a.m. that someone tried to pay with a counterfeit $10 bill through the drive-thru. No food was provided when the employee told the customer the bill was counterfeit. The vehicle left the scene though employees asked the driver to pull around to the front of the business and wait for police.

Theft from Vehicle: Police responded to a residence on the 7200 block of 190th Avenue East at 8 a.m. for a report of a vehicle prowl. The victim reported someone removed the rear window of her pick up truck and stole a tablet and some office supplies from the vehicle. The window remained intact.

Purse Theft: A woman reported that while shopping at Safeway on June 18 at about 2 p.m., she had gone to return her cart after loading her groceries in her car but forgot her purse. When her daughter went back to retrieve it, it was gone. Store employees checked the area but did not locate it.

Trespassing: Police arrested a man for second degree criminal trespass, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and a Bonney Lake warrant after responding to a report of trespassers on a property on the 19200 block of 113th Street East at 11:14 a.m.
