Bonney Lake Police: Purse Stolen from Vehicle at Daycare, School Windows Broken, and Juveniles Shoplift Make-up and Alcohol

The following information from March 14 through April 1 was provided by the Bonney Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

March 14, 2013

Property Damage: Police responded to Emerald Hills Elementary School at about 6:30 a.m. for a report that several windows were broken on school property, including two glass doors to the main entrance and two more broken windows around the rear. It appeared rocks were thrown to break the glass.

Shoplifting: Two minors were arrested and later released to their parents for shoplifting about $55 in cosmetics from Walmart at about 6 p.m. Charges for third-degree theft were being forwarded to Remann Hall.

Assault: Police cited a man for assault after responding to a residence on the 20300 block of 69th Street East at 6 p.m. and speaking to a woman who said he’d cursed her and then charged at her full speed, knocking her over. The victim reported she’d heard him having an argument with her sister before he had stormed out.

Property Damage: Police cited a man for malicious mischief after responding to the 19400 block of 103rd Street East at 4:20 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Both parties involved told police the argument, which took place in a vehicle, was not physical but it ended with the driver driving through a metal gate owned by the city of Bonney Lake.

Vehicle Prowl: Police responded to Kid’s Country day care at about 5:40 p.m. for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim told police she parked her vehicle and went inside to pick up her nephew. Employees of the day care reported to her seeing a suspect look into her drivers side window and then walk around to the passenger side window and punch through the window to grab her black Coach purse from the floorboard. He then left in a white to midsized Chevrolet pickup. He was described as a black man wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and beanie cap with brim and blue jeans.

Minors in Theft: Police arrested and later released to their parents two juveniles seen attempting to steal alcohol from Safeway at about 11:15 p.m.  Charges for theft were being forwarded to Remann Hall for both, and one juvenile also faced a charge of minor in possession.

March 28, 2013

Theft: Police responded to a residence on the 7700 block of 183rd Avenue East at 3:24 p.m. for a report that several items were stolen from the yard. The resident reported the thief was his brother and he later admitted via text he’d stolen several items.  The responding officer cited the suspect brother for third-degree theft.

DUI: Police arrested a man for DUI after 11 p.m. on a report from another driver that the suspect was driving erratically. The responding officer pulled the suspect over on the 18300 block of State Route 410, headed west.

March 30, 2013

Shoplifting: Police arrested an Enumclaw man for second-degree theft and two counts of fourth-degree assault after responding to Lowes at 9:52 a.m. for a report an off-duty officer and an employee were restraining the shoplifting suspect as he resisted. The suspect reportedly attempted to steal more than 1,000 in merchandise and initially gave police a false identity. It took assistance from several police departments to properly identify him.

April 1, 2013

Domestic Violence Assault: A woman and four-year-old daughter entered the police department at about 8:30 a.m. regarding what has already been reported in local news.  Though the incident occurred in the evening of March 31, the woman told police she waited until she thought she could leave the house safely with the child to seek medical attention.

Theft: A citizen reported to police at 10:35 a.m. that her wallet was stolen, she believes, from the counter at Autozone where she last used it on March 28 to make a purchase between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. She thinks she left the wallet on the counter and someone took it. Employees told her no wallet was turned in as found.
