Bonney Lake Police Warn of Increased Car Prowls at Both Ends of City

Bonney Lake Police warn residents to lock their cars and not to leave valuables inside.

Bonney Lake Police issued this statement to residents about a sharp increase in car prowls during the last few weeks:

has noticed a sharp increase in the number of car prowls throughout the city during the past couple of weeks. Most recent areas targeted are northwest and southwest areas of the city, primarily Locust Ave W to 183 Ave E as well as the Angeline Rd area. All residents within the city and surrounding areas should be aware of this recent increase in car prowls and follow these few simple steps to keep your vehicles secure.

  • Please lock your vehicles at all times
  • Remove all items of value from your vehicles including purses, wallets, GPS units, cell phones or any other item that you would not want stolen
  • Turn on porch and garage lights during the hours of darkness or use a motion light
  • Do no rely on car alarms to protect your valuables
  • Should you become the victim of a car prowl, please report the theft to the Bonney Lake Police Department (if your vehicle is located in city limits) as soon as possible ~ 24 hour non emergency dispatch number 253-841-5538.
