Delays Linger as Brush Fires Between Bonney Lake and Buckley Extinguished

East Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to multiple reports of fires along State Route 410 at about 4 p.m. The fires were extinguished but traffic remains sluggish.

Firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue have put out several brush fires at the 26200 block of State Route 410 Sunday afternoon though according to Google Maps, traffic lingers in both directions just west of Mundy Loss Road at about 4:40 p.m.

The department reported on Facebook at about 4 p.m. that firefighters received multiple reports that there were in fact more than one fire at that location. The first unit to respond found four large fires with the largest 30 feet away from trailers and campers at Uncle Johns RV park.

The East Pierce Wildland Team was requested but later cancelled.
