Fire Destroys Mobile Home Used as Office

Flames engulf structure early Tuesday morning in Sumner.

Flames destroyed an office in the 14000 block of 16th Street East in Sumner early Tuesday morning.

According to a news release, East Pierce Fire and Rescue crews arrived to what was first thought to be a warehouse fire just before 4 a.m. and found a mobile home completely ingulfed in flames.

Firefighters were unsure of whether the mobile home was a residence; later it was determined to be used as an office. Crews were able to save a large garage, personal vehicles and several semi-truck parts parked close to the mobile home.
