Man Injured in Fall at Prairie Ridge Transfer Station

The man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for his injuries.

Pierce County, Wash. – Firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to a call for a man fallen just after 1 p.m. Monday at the Prairie Ridge Transfer Station, 11710 Prairie Ridge Drive East, in Pierce County, Wash., between Bonney Lake and Buckley. Witnesses said the man fell approximately 15 feet from the top of a container.

“Due to the time of day and the potentially serious nature of the man’s injuries, Airlift Northwest (an emergency medical helicopter) was used to transport the patient to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle,” says East Pierce Battalion Chief Rick Goetz.
