One-Car Accident on SR 164 Kills Bonney Lake Man
Derek Phifer, a 26 year-old Bonney Lake resident, died Monday after a critical crash on Friday morning.
A one-car accident on SR 164 killed Derek Phifer, a 26 year-old Bonney Lake resident.
Just after 7 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, Phifer was driving eastbound with a male passenger on SR 164, just east of SE 382nd St. when he crossed into the westbound lanes and left the roadway, striking multiple trees.
According to a memo from the Washington State Patrol, Phifer was driving under the influence.

Phifer was pronounced dead at Harborview Medical Center Monday, Nov. 14; his 27 year-old passenger from Kirkland was also treated for injuries. Phifer was not wearing his seatbelt.
