One Dead, Three Injured In Sumner Motel Shooting

Police continue to investigate the incident.

UPDATE Mon., Dec. 17

The deceased has been identified as Rigoberto “Rigo” Daza of Madera, Calif., according to The Tacoma News Tribune. (Read more about the eye-witness accounts.)

Sumner Police Chief Brad Moericke confirmed that Daza was staying in the Sumner Motor Inn while working on the construction site at a nearby Costco.

Police have not released any new information at this time.

Sumner Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left one man dead and three others wounded.

The shooting occurred just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the Sumner Motor Inn, located in the 15400 block of Main Street.

Officers found a 23-year-old Hispanic man dead at the scene of apparent gunshot wounds. They also found a second man with a gunshot wound to his leg and a third victim with gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen.  Both men are currently in stable condition at Tacoma General Hospital. The fourth shooting victim man at the scene received a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is currently in surgery due to life-threatening injuries. Sumner Police continues to investigate the incident along with the Pierce County Metro Crime Response Unit. East Pierce Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene. The names of the four men have not been released.

Instead of building and supporting the city, she prefers to tear down anything good and honorable. I'm so glad the voters saw fit to pass her by when she ran for election! With her attitude, it would have been detrimental to having a nice city to live in! Stuff a sock in it, Quinn!
