Police Search for Spanaway Man Accused of Murdering Ex-Wife

The Pierce County Sheriff issued a bench warrant today for Scott Kagawa, a Spanaway man accused of killing his wife, whose body was found last month in Yelm.

Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives need your help to locate homicide suspect Scott Kagawa.  A felony warrant has been issued for Kagawa’s arrest for Murder in the first degree.

On Tuesday June 26th, 2012, a woman’s body was discovered in the Yelm area of Thurston County.  The body was later identified as Rita Kagawa, who had been missing from Spanaway under highly suspicious circumstances since May 18th, 2012.

Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives have identified Rita’s ex-husband Scott Kagawa as being responsible for her disappearance and murder, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Scott Mitsuo Kagawa is a white male, 49 years old, 5’7” tall, 175 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.  He may be suicidal and/or attempting to flee the area.
