Two Teens Seriously Injured in Rollover Accident Near Tehaleh

Two local teens were critically injured in an off-roading accident near the Tehaleh development Wednesday, according to East Pierce Fire and Rescue.

A rollover accident in the woods surrounding the Tehaleh development near the 14200 block of 215th Ave. E. sent two to the trauma centers yesterday, according to East Pierce Fire and Rescue.

A 17-year-old boy from Bonney Lake was off-roading in a 1987 Mazda when it flipped around 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 3. He had five passengers, three of whom were ejected from the vehicle when it crashed. It took responders some time to find the car in the woods.

A witness walked to the Prairie Ridge Community Center to report the crash, but firefighters and Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies had to comb the area south of Bonney Lake, near the Tehaleh development, before locating the vehicle and two victims.
