Sumner Man Dies on Train Tracks Near Silo Tavern

A Sumner man lost his life on the train tracks in the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 22.

Police are investigating the death of Mitchell Trimm, a Sumner man who died on the train tracks just north of Main Street and Cherry Avenue, just behind . It is unclear at this time whether his death was suicide or accidental.

Trimm was found 150 yards away from the bar around 1:30 a.m., where he was last seen. The impact was devastaing.

The bartender told police he knew his family well and that the man did not appear too intoxicated or in bad spirits when he left the bar an hour prior. His father confirmed that this seemed like an accident. Trimm had a lot to look forward to, his father told police -- he had just been promoted, purchased a truck and was planning a trip with friends.
