Sumner Police: Vehicle Stolen at Sounder Station, and Man Arrested in Domestic Dispute

The following information from April 18 to April 23 was provided by the Sumner Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

April 18, 2013

Vehicle Prowl: Police responded to the Sounder Station after 4:30 p.m. for a vehicle prowl. The victim told police it would have happened between 5 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. when she returned to her vehicle after work. She noted her car had been rifled through, her center console was open and a checkbook and tax form were missing. She stated she may have left her vehicle unlocked.

Vehicle Theft: Police responded to the Sounder station after 4:30 p.m. for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim said he parked his 1984 cream Toyota pick up truck with WA license B30008E in the southeast corner of the lot at about 5:50 a.m. and found it missing when he returned at 4:30 p.m.Β  Police did not observe any broken glass in the area to indicate a window was broken.

April 21, 2013

Vehicle Prowl: A citizen reported after 7 a.m. that someone had cut a steel cable and a ΒΎ inch chain in the rear bed of his pick up truck on the 6200 block of Parker Road East and stole an orange Stihl Weed eater Model FS-130 valued at $400. Other items weren’t taken. The victim reported the theft likely happened between 11 p.m. on April 20 and 7 a.m. that morning.

Domestic Dispute: Police received a report at 9:32 a.m. from a woman who said she was assaulted by her live-in boyfriend at a residence on the 6400 block of 158th Avenue East following an argument over her being kicked out and taking items from him because he owed her money. After questioning, officers arrested the man who was later also cited for domestic violence assault fourth-degree.

April 23, 2013

Domestic Dispute: Police responded to a residence on the 1400 block of Washington Street at 8:51 a.m. for a report of a physical domestic disturbance between a husband and wife. The husband was no longer at the scene and the wife reported that in their argument, he had grabbed her and left a bruise on her arm while he held their infant son. Police later contacted the husband by phone who said she was holding their son and flailing at him during the argument. The case was forwarded to the city prosecutor for review.
