POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY

Officers were dispatched to a suspicious situation on the 16400 block of 64th St. E. A resident reported that it seemed like his neighbors were attempting to hide a trailer by cutting it up.

An officer approached the property on foot. He saw a man walking toward him and a silver, cargo-like trailer behind the trees. The 44 year-old man told the officer that he was making the cargo trailer into a flatbed car hauler for his friend. His friend told him that he would pay him $10 an hour to transform it, and he dropped it off two weeks ago. He had another man helping him.

The cargo trailer was registered to a Bonney Lake resident. There were stage sets from a theatrical group inside of it, including paintings, props and other things. Some of the stuff was still in the trailer, but most was on the ground. The items were worth thousands of dollars, and the men could say what the items were for.

The officer even contacted the Sumner High Performing Arts director and Act 1 Productions, but neither group was missing the property.

When questioned by police, both men said a third person had given them the trailer and that he had a history of theft and fraud, and that they probably shouldn’t have trusted him.

Later that afternoon, dispatch advised that a stolen vehicle report on the trailer had been filed – it had been stolen that morning. Officers returned to the property and knocked on the door. After several minutes the men came to the door and admitted to attempting to rip up the trailer into scrap metal.

The trailer had been stolen from outside of Surge Dance Center in Bonney Lake. The trailer was worth about $15,000. Both men were arrested for possession of stolen property. The owner of the trailer was able to retrieve it.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Officers responded to the 6400 block of 158th St. for a report of a man walking toward Mead-McCumber and screaming random things at dogs as he walked by, then yelling he was going to kill someone.

They found him walking down the street carrying a black duffle bag, mumbling to himself and looking toward the sky. Police recognized him from numerous contacts.

Police asked why he was yelling and he said it was “because of my bad attitude.” He was extremely impaired and had a bottle of liquor in his bag. He was arrested for disorderly conduct.

UNEXPLAINED CIRCUMSTANCES

Officers responded to the 1400 block of East Valley Highway for a report of a man down on the east side of the road. The man was lying face down on the roadway with his legs spread and his arms stretched in front of his head. He told police he could not move. He said he didn’t know what happened or why he fell, only that he saw a bright light, woke up on the pavement and could not move because his back hurt really bad.

Medical aide responded to the scene. He was sober and had not been hit by a car. His clothing was clean and there were no signs of scuff marks that indicated he slid or fell.

There was physically nothing wrong with the man and no explanation for his actions.
