They found a yellow Ford truck sitting partially on the sidewalk with extensive damage to the entire drivers side of the vehicle. There was a silver Jeep facing northbound partially blocking the sidewalk.

The male driver of the Jeep told police he was driving and entered the curve in the road when he saw the Jeep traveling toward him faster than it should. He tried to speed up and get out of the way, but the Jeep hit his car and turned it around 180 degrees.

The 56 year-old woman told police she was only driving about 25 mph when she hit the other car, but changed her story a few times when pressured. She seemed sober but told police she had narcolepsy.

She couldn’t provide a contact number for anyone who could come help her and told officers she worked for the FBI, but couldn’t remember the phone number. A tow truck came and that’s when they found bullets in an evidence bag in the car.

They asked the woman if she had a gun, and she replied that she did and reached into her coat pocket to grab it. She was quickly restrained by police, who pulled a black pistol out of her jacket. They asked if she had a concealed weapons permit and she said that the sheriff “delivered it” to her. Dispatch advised she did not have a gun permit. The woman was arrested for carrying a firearm illegally and having no vehicle insurance.

Assault With BB Gun

Officers responded to the area of 75th St. Ct. E and Rivergrove Dr. for a report of a shooting. Police contacted the 60 year-old victim, who said he was shot in the head with a BB gun. He said he was walking down the sidewalk when he heard a “pop.” He turned his head in the direction of the noise then was hit with something. Police gathered his information but the man refused medical aide and continued with his walk.

Officers visited a nearby home address where there was a 10 year-old boy they had prior run-ins with. The officers talked to the father, who said his son and his 11 year-old friend had been playing with a BB gun earlier in the day. The boys said they were shooting molehills in the backyard from the upstairs window.

Neither boy wanted to admit they shot the man and said the other did it. The victim was notified that his shooters had been identified, and the case was forwarded to the Pierce County Juvenile prosecutor for follow-up.

DUI

7:36pm: Officers responded to West Valley Highway and Sumner Heights Drive for a report of a blocking disabled vehicle. Officers found the vehicle facing southbound with the engine running and the lights on. The front left tire was blown out.

The male driver had his hands down and was looking into his lap. The officer asked the driver what was going on and the man replied, “Oh, I’m just doing my thing.” He slurred slowly and smelled of intoxicants. The man admitted to “a few” drinks but refused a field sobriety test and was placed into custody.

Officers asked him why he stopped in the middle of the road but the man seemed confused and thought he was off the roadway. He didn’t know his tire had blown out.

The man was arrested for DUI and blew a .197 at the station.

Business Harassment

2:15pm: A Dairy Freeze employee called police and said a man had been harassing the business and employees. She said that the man came in two weeks prior and requested a refund because they had messed up his order the night before. She gave him a refund, despite not being able to confirm if he actually bought anything there. He told her he ordered a burger with bacon, but the other employees said no one had been in and ordered that and they couldn’t locate a receipt.

The employee said he came in another time and provided a similar story, but instead of one burger, he claimed he ordered five. He wanted a refund and provided a name and phone number.

Officers provided the employee with a case number and asked her to call if the subject came in again so he can be identified and trespassed from the property. The officer called the number the employee gave him but no one answered.
