Sumner Police Blotter, March 7

A stolen car found in Tukwila is highlighted in this police blotter from Sumner.

March 7

9:38pm: A subject contacted the Sumner Police Department and said somebody stole his vehicle from the 1200 block of Valley Ave. He said he set down his keys at the check stand of a store and walked off without them after he made his purchase. He said he realized once he got out to his car that his keys were missing. He went back inside twice to look for his keys and came across the person he believed was standing behind him in line at the check stand. He asked the person if he knew where his keys were, but the subject denied knowing anything about his keys.

Β When the victim went outside to his vehicle a third time, he found it had been stolen. Approximately 90 minutes later, the vehicle was located by law enforcement in the SeaTac/Tukwila area. There was nobody in the vehicle, though there was a subject nearby. The officer asked the subject if it was his car and he yelled he did not know who’s vehicle it was. A while later, a mother came in and wanted to report her son as a missing person. The description given to officers of the missing person was the exact same description as that of the person who was arrested in SeaTac for his involvement with the stolen vehicle. It was eventually determined that it was the same subject in both cases.
