School Bus Collision

A man was driving westbound on the 15300 block of Forest Canyon Road at 8 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the drivers side of a Dieringer School District school bus that had 18 elementary school children in it on their way to school. Two children were transported to an area hospital for head and neck pain, and two others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The man who hit the bus totaled his car and was cited for speeding too fast for weather conditions. He was also charged with driving with a suspended license.

No-Contact Order Violation

An officer was working radar enforcement on the 15300 block of Main Street when he observed a speeding vehicle driving westbound. The officer began following the vehicle and watched it turn onto a nearby construction site. The vehicle stopped and a man entered the passenger side.

The officer pulled the car over and spoke with the 19 year-old female driver. She did not have any personal information on her, including a drivers license or insurance. The driver told police she had just been in an argument with her grandmother and left in a hurry, which is why she had been speeding.

Police pulled up the woman’s name in their database and found two no-contact orders against a 20 year-old man who was similar to her passenger. She claimed the man in her car was her brother. While police questioned the woman, the man hopped out of the car and started walking toward Fred Meyer. Police followed him and he ran away; he was eventually stopped from trying to climb a fence at the Garden Center to escape.

The woman admitted he wasn’t violating the no-contact order, she was. She started to cry and told police the man is her ex and she just wanted him to be around during the holidays for their child.

The man was arrested for violating both no-contact orders.
