Commercial Burglary:
Police responded to Parsons Construction at 9:44 a.m. for a report that on the evening of May 18, someone had broken into the business property and stolen about $15,000 in tools and equipment. Police were reviewing surveillance and a potentially known suspect.

Burglary: Police responded to the 2300 block of East Valley Highway for a report of a burglary in progress. The property owner reported confronting a man associated with a truck that had two 8-foot metal weather head poles in the bed, parked in his driveway. The man asked about who mows the lawn but when the owner began to dial 911, the man quickly returned to his truck and fled the scene – at one point picking up a female that had come from around the back of the residence. The owner tried to but was unable to continue the pursuit before police arrived. Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies located a similar truck with scrap metal in the bed. Police were able to identify the man and woman; the case was being forwarded to the county prosecutor for potential burglary charges.

Attempted Burglary:
Police responded to a residence on the 7100 block of 142nd Avenue East at 1:47 p.m. for a report of a damaged front door and possible burglary. The resident reported she left the home at about 8 a.m. and when she returned at 1:30 p.m. found that part of the entry lock on the front door was on the floor and a five foot high dent on the door. The responding officer found the deadbolt lock was still intact and the integrity of the doorframe was fine; the resident reported nothing appeared to be missing and wasn’t sure anyone actually made it inside the home.

Road Rage: Police arrested a man for aiming a firearm after responding to a report of road rage that began in the 2400 block of West Valley Highway. The driver of the vehicle ahead reported to police the driver of the vehicle behind him had aimed a handgun at him after both admitted to agitating each other while in heavy traffic. The driver with the gun said the other driver also waved a knife at him, but that driver said he was only  holding his iPhone. The weapon was not loaded when police searched the vehicle, but ammunition had been placed in the glove box.
