Sumner Police: Intoxicated Underaged Brothers Deny Role in Store Vandalism

The following information was provided by the Sumner Police Department covering March 2 through March 6. It does not indicate a conviction.

March 2, 2013

Theft: A woman reported at 1:38 p.m. that a set of four new tires valued at $820 were stolen from her back yard shed, and she provided police with a known suspect, who was currently in jail. The tires were described as Wild Country XTX truck tires.

Vehicle Prowl: The victim reported at 3:44 p.m. that her purse was missing from her unlocked vehicle as she was loading it up on the 15900 block of 52nd Street E.Β

Minors, Alcohol and Property Damage: Police detained and later released to a parent two brothers, both minors, who were outside of Fred Meyer after 1 a.m. where several potted plants had been knocked over and damaged. Police reports indicate both were intoxicated; one brother denied being involved in the vandalism while the other declined to answer questions. Charges for minor in possession, along with additional charges for trespassing and possession of marijuana for the second brother, were being forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor at Pierce County.

Gas Theft: Police received a report that gas was stolen from a company vehicle parked on the 2200 block of 140th Avenue E in the last few days. The reporting party said a hose was found still attached to gas tank.
