Shoplifting and Forgery: Police arrested a woman for shoplifting at Winco at about 3:15 p.m. While she was being questioned, it was revealed that she had in her possession a check that raised officers’ suspicions it was forged. Investigation showed it was indeed forged and lead back to a check fraud victim in Puyallup. The woman, who reportedly had several warrants for her arrest, was booked for forgery with additional charges of third-degree theft and unlawful possession of a controlled substance being forwarded to the Pierce County Prosecutor.

Bar Fight: Police arrested a man for disorderly conduct after receiving reports he and a second man had been kicked out of Schaffer’s Bar and Grill for fighting around midnight but refused to leave the property. Both men were trespassed from the bar for life.
Domestic Violence: Police arrested a man for fourth-degree domestic violence assault against his girlfriend after responding to the Sumner Motor Inn at 2:41 a.m. Officers noted the woman’s left eye was extremely swollen and that she had bruises from fights the previous day as well.
Domestic Violence: Police arrested a woman for fourth-degree domestic violence upon an accusation from her husband she’d punched him in the face and his injury was verified by officers. The woman shared her husband had a history of domestic violence but she’d refrained from reporting him out of fear. Charges for fourth-degree domestic assault for her husband were being forwarded for review to the city prosecutor.

Domestic Violence: Police arrested a male for fourth-degree domestic violence assault and for minor intoxicated in a public place after responding to the 1800 block of 16th Street at 11:20 p.m. for a report of a fight. The male had reportedly assaulted his brother in their mother’s car after she directed him to sleep there because he was intoxicated.
