Teen Driver Involved In Head-On Collision Friday Night On SR-162
A late night crash on SR-162 sent three people to the hospital Friday. It's unknown if drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.
A 17-year-old Tacoma girl lost control of her 1988 Honda Accord while negotiating a turn in the road while traveling westbound on SR-162 near mile post 11 on July 27 around 9:20 p.m. She was not wearing a seatbelt as she crossed over the double yellow center lane and struck an oncoming 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by a 63-year-old Orting woman.
The late-night head-on collision sent the 17-year-old driver and her 19-year-old passenger, Domenique Mooneyham of Puyallup, to St. Josephs Hospital. The other driver, Judy Baker of Orting, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. The name of the juvenile driver has not been released.
Both the 19-year-old passenger and the 63-year old woman were wearing their seatbelts. Itβs unknown if drugs or alcohol played a part in this crash.

Both cars were impounded to the Tacoma State Bullpen for further investigation. No charges have been filed, and this collision is still under investigation.Β
