WSP Seeks Witnesses to Fatal Crash on SR 410
If you saw Friday's tragic three vehicle collision on SR 410 near Sumner, the Washington State Patrol wants to hear from you.
The Washington State Patrol’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating .
Detectives learned that a blue 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on 410 when the vehicle sideswiped the right side guardrail. The pickup veered left striking and going over the raised Jersey barrier, then entered the westbound lanes where it collided with a gray 2002 Ford Focus. Both vehicles were subsequently struck by a red 2004 Kenworth dump truck towing a dump trailer. The truck and trailer were loaded with gravel.
The Washington State Patrol has identified the two people killed in Friday morning's accident as 72-year-old Richard Smith, of Renton, and 41-year-old David Maynard, of Bonney Lake.
