Ballot Drop-off Van Coming to City of Pacific

All ballots for the recall election for Pacific Mayor Cy Sun must be returned by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25.

The following information is from King County:

Tuesday, June 25 is election day for 3,000 voters in the city of Pacific. To provide options for voters to return ballots, King County Elections will have a staffed ballot drop-off van at the Algona-Pacific Library, 255 Ellingson Road:

  • Saturday, June 22; 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Monday, June 24; 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 25; 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Ballots must be postmarked by June 25 or returned to a drop-off location by 8 p.m. the same day. In addition to the van at the library, the permanent ballot drop-box at Elections headquarters, 919 SW Grady Way in Renton is open 24 hours/day until 8 p.m. June 25.

This is a special mayoral recall election. A recall election is a referendum that gives voters an opportunity to remove an elected official from office prior to the end of the term.

There is no voters’ pamphlet for this election; the synopsis of recall charges against Mayor Cy Sun are on the ballot, as is Mayor Cy Sun’s response to the recall charges.

King County is conducting the election for all voters involved, including about 50 Pierce County voters in the City of Pacific.
