Bonney Lake Girl Spends Birthday Morning Sharing the Spirit of 'Care-A-Lot Day'

Grace Marie Colbeth, 5, was the inspiration behind Mayor Neil Johnson's declaration that April 12, her birthday, was 'Care-A-Lot Day' in Bonney Lake.

Grace Marie Colbeth, 5, spent her birthday morning Friday paying it forward, distributing goodie bags with Hersheys kisses to various staff across the city of Bonney Lake including Mayor Neil Johnson and East Pierce Fire and Rescue Chief Jerry Thorson.

The gifts weren't meant to be a passive thing. Grace's instructions were clear and simple: enjoy a Hersheys Kiss. Then share the rest with someone you care about.

It was the action she and her family decided to take after Johnson this week declared that today, April 12, would be known as "Care-A-Lot Day" in Bonney Lake. She took the opportunity to show her gratitude to the many citizens working toward making the city a better place to live.

According to dad David, Grace's message today was this: "(Today), Everybody should care, they shouldn't be mean to others, everybody should be caring."
