Bonney Lake Will Withdraw Orton Junction Appeal for More Wastewater Capacity in Sumner

After an executive session Tuesday night, the Bonney Lake City Council decided to withdraw the city's appeal of Orton Junction, in exchange for expanded wastewater treatment capacity.

Bonney Lake has withdrawn its appeal of the Orton Junction project, according to the Bonney Lake & Sumner Courier-Herald.

The council voted to drop the appeal of the controversial development project in exchange for increased sewer capacity at Sumner's wastewater treatment facility. According to the Courier-Herald, the expansion will cost the city $10 million and will allow Bonney Lake to use up to 70 percent of the wastewater treatment capacity through 2062.
