Election Results Certified, Campaigns Kick Into High Gear

What races are you most concerned about in the November elections? Final primary results have been certified by local counties.

Expect the campaigning to ramp up for November elections now.

Final results from Washington’s Aug. 7 primary were posted and certified Tuesday. The Secretary of State has until Friday to certify results statewide.

As of Tuesday afternoon, final numbers in the 31st Legislative District were as follows:

  • Position 1: Incumbent Rep. Cathy Dahlquist leads with 16,169 votes (63.96 percent) over challenger Brian Gunn with 9,112 votes (36.04 percent)
  • Position 2: Incumbent Rep. Chris Hurst leads with 14,082 (56.83 percent) over challenger Lisa Connors with 10,699 votes (43.17 percent)

The East Pierce Fire Maintenance and Operations Levy passed with a 63.04 percent majority, or 9,366 votes.
