The Pierce County Auditor's Office, located in Room 200 of the Pierce County Annex and the adjacent Elections Center, will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 23.
The one-day closure is part of a series of furloughs that are necessary due to budget cuts. The closure days were selected around holidays and traditional low-volume days in order to minimize the impact on the public. Other services in the Pierce County Annex, including the Assessor-Treasurer's Office and Planning and Land Services, will be open Thursday.
All county offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 24, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

Animal Control officers, who operate under the supervision of the auditor, will still respond to field calls. For animal-related emergencies, call 9-1-1. For routine questions and nuisance reports, call 253-798-PETS (7387).
