Johnson, Stuard Lead in Respective Local Races

Bonney Lake Mayor Neil Johnson and Sumner Council challenger Earle Stuard have the preliminary leads in Tuesday's primary.

Preliminary Pierce County Elections results show that Bonney Lake Mayor Neil Johnson enjoys a solid lead over his challengers with 58.46 percent (954 votes). Down in the valley, Earle Stuard, who is challenging incumbent Councilman Ed Hannus takes the initial lead with 40.75 percent (502 votes).

Current Bonney Lake Councilman James Rackley, who is challenging Johnson, comes in with the next highest total at 23.10 percent (337 votes). Mike Munson is in third with 17.71 percent (289 votes).

In Sumner, Stuard leads Hannus, who has 24.84 percent (306 votes). Melody Pederson follows with 19.72 percent (243 votes) and Jody T. Wilkins has 14.36 percent (177 votes).
