Local Cities Win Wellness Award Yielding Taxpayer Savings for Employee Health Insurance

Bonney Lake, Sumner, Buckley and Enumclaw were among 83 Washington cities to earn this recognition from the Association of Washington Cities Employee Benefit Trust this year.

Sumner, Bonney Lake, Buckley and Enumclaw plus nearby Orting have all been recognized with a WellCity Award from the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Employee Benefit Trust for 2013.

According to the AWC website, these cities were among 83 Washington cities to receive this award, which is based on meeting stringent best practice standards in promoting employee health.

Award recipients receive a 2 percent premium discount on their Regence BlueShield/Asuris Northwest Health premiums for 2014.

Sumner, Bonney Lake, Buckley and Enumclaw were all past winners, joined this year by Orting.
