THIS CAMPAIGN:

What is the primary reason you are running for this office? My family is proud to call Sumner our home. My wife and I have taught school, started a business and raised our children here. Sumner has given us such a wonderful life over the past 20 years and I would like to use my time and effort to help ensure that Sumner remains a great place in which to live, work, and do business.

What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why? Properly managing our growth in order to retain the unique character of Sumner. Managing growth is an important function of any city. I would like to help manage Sumner’s growth in such a way as to maintain its unique character in the region. Maintaining a vital downtown core that brings people to Sumner to shop and enjoy. Sumner’s Downtown area is a significant component of the city’s character and an important source of revenue for the citizens of Sumner. Managing the city’s budget. In these difficult economic times, I think the responsible management of budgetary resources is an important function of everyone in government.

What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders? I have a high regard for the City of Sumner and all it has to offer. I have work experience in the public and private sectors and will bring this experience to the council. The regional nature of my job has allowed me interact with other municipalities in the region and see how they have managed their growth and fiscal challenges. Most importantly I have no party affiliation or political agenda. My goal is to work for the people of Sumner.

How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election?   $2000

Official endorsements: None at this time.
