The move to change Pierce Transit's boundaries came after 2011 cuts that reduced the agency's scope in its communities. If these boundaries pass, millions of dollars in sales tax revenue will be lost from the communities that didn't make the cut and thousands will be potentially without transportation in Pierce County.

The transit board in charge of the boundary revision process is a group that includes members of county government and representatives from participating cities in Pierce County.
