Online Voter Registration Deadline Ends Monday for August Primary

Monday, July 8, will be the last day to register to vote or update voter registration information online or in person in time for the Aug. 6 primary election, according to Pierce County Elections.

Monday, July 8, will be the last day to register to vote online or by mail or update voter registration information in time for the Aug. 6 primary and special election, according to Pierce County Elections.

In-person registration will continue through July 29 for those who are currently not registered in Washington.

Pierce County Elections will mail primary ballots to all registered voters on July 19, so it’s important that citizens register to vote and keep their address and other information, including their signature, updated.

  • Calling the Voter Hotline at 253-798-VOTE (8683)
  • Visiting Pierce County Elections Center, 2501 S. 35th St. Suite C in Tacoma, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • By mail: Call the Elections Division at 253-798-VOTE to have a form mailed to you.
  • In person at the Pierce County Elections Center

Voters who miss the July 8 deadline to update their registration should still contact the Elections office to update their information for future elections. Pierce County residents not currently registered in Washington can register in person after July 8 at the Elections office through July 29.

Who can register?

To be eligible to register to vote, you must be:

  • 18 years old by election day (Aug. 6)
  • A United States citizen
  • A legal resident of the state of Washington
  • Not under the authority of the Department of Corrections
