Pierce County released its final proposal for redistricting that cuts Sumner off from Bonney Lake and aligns the city more closely with Auburn, Puyallup and Edgewood in District 2.
Bonney Lake will remain in District 1 with Buckley and a majority of unincorporated land that stretches toward Mt. Rainier.
The map - which Districting Master Steven Garrett produced and the Pierce County Auditor's Office released Tuesday - lumps University Place, Fircrest and Downtown Tacoma together in District 4.
Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula, Ruston, West and North Tacoma would make up District 7. Also, Joint Base Lewis-McChord would be part of District 6, which includes pockets of Lakewood, Tacoma and unincorporated Pierce County.
The . The only way it can be changed is if four of the five members of Pierce County's redistricting committee agree to do so during their meeting next month. Otherwise, the final proposal will be the county' boundaries for the next decade.
