Two Public Hearings at Sumner Council Meeting Monday

The hearings pertain to the Sumner Meadows Golf Course and the declaration of 22 acres of city property as surplus.

The Sumner City Council is holding to public hearings during its meeting Monday, July 1.

The first hearing pertains to the transfer of certain real property, the Sumner Meadows Golf Course, from the Sewer Utility to the General Fund.

City spokesperson Carmen Palmer clarified this hearing is more of a procedural step as required by state law that applies for anything owned by an enterprise fund including the golf course. "While we’re still in the process of selling the course, this is not the sale yet," she said in an email.

All persons who may desire to provide testimony are hereby notified to appear and present such testimony at such hearing. At the conclusion of the Public Hearing, Council will consider a resolution to transfer the property from the Sewer Utility to the General fund.
