Girls Soccer: Sumner Advances to 2A State Championship

The Sumner girls soccer team will have a shot at a state championship today after defeating Squalicum Friday night in a 4-3 shootout.

The Sumner girls soccer team will have a shot at a state championship today after defeating Squalicum Friday night in a 4-3 shootout. With 90 minutes of regulation and two overtimes played, the Spartans and the Storm were knotted at 0. In the shootout, Sumner was able to get goals from Kaylie Rozell, Alyssa Murray, Brooke Lancaster, and Kelsie Colman, enough goals to squeeze past Squalicum. The Spartans will battle Sehome today at Shoreline Stadium for the 2A State Championship. Kickoff is 4:00 p.m.
