Costs of Northstar Chemical: Start Adding It Up!

Facts and data deciding the costs and risks. At least we don't have to dwell on the benefits, as there are none.

1) We need an accurate tabulation of ALL monetary Costs associated with the actual permitting 'with mitigation' of a Phase I and II chemical plant right here in Sumner. By the way, a politician even came up with the word 'plant' for the facility. There is a shredding event coming up here in Sumner, WA, April's end 2012. I'd like Northstar Distribution Terminals PLN 2004-00077 application shredded at that!!! Positive thought! I am all for diplomacy. I think we should want to buy that land, it's the only way to go I think. But this blog is for you silent ones out there, on this Topic of the Day.

2) The final EIS is being published... what? What did you say? It could be just 2 weeks away? Hey, we asked for an SEIS. Hm. Looks like the public will have zero chance to vett out the 'blending.' The mysterious blending of chemicals. It alarms me that I can still find people that don't know that sulfuric acid plus bleach makes... Chlorine gas. Shelter in place is a fact, if and when an earthquake that knocks out the roads is ever a reality. And oh yes, another fact is that we here in the great PNW are on the top 10 list of big ones.

So. It's time for some bigtime community love here. How much does full shelter in place cost for every child, elderly, female and... everyone else here? How about it? Think about that if you want a great math problem. What will that cost? That is called a 'mitigation' requirement. I think it's number one on the list if the city ever caves in and permits this kind of corp... but what do you think?
