Bonney Lake Sumner High School Drill Team Makes Mark at Nationals Competition

The team took home two second place trophies during the USA Dance/Drill Nationals in Costa Mesa, Calif., this past weekend

A big thank you to the parents and supporters of the Bonney Lake Sumner High School Drill Team for sharing some great news with us on our Facebook page Monday night.

Lynn Wiechmann Nadeau provided this lovely team photo and an update that they snagged two second place trophies in two different categories during the USA Dance/Drill Nationals competition in southern California this weekend.

Tracy Lasko further explained that daughter Katie, a sophomore at BLHS, participated in Drill Down and out of 250 participants in the Saturday event, she placed in the top 25.

"Katie was the last member of the Bonney Lake Sumner Drill team left standing in Drill Down," mom Tracy wrote to Patch. "Katie had placed first in Drill Downs at the last three Invitiationals, including Districts; and was in the last 15 at State Drill Down. ...We are very proud parents indeed!"

Congratulations to the entire team as well as your supportive coaches and families!
