Bonney Lake High School Bomb Threat Cleared, Dismissal In Progress

Students and staff have been evacuated and are being held on the football field while the Pierce County Sheriff's Department conducts a thorough search of the school building.

Follow-up to parent advisory for Bonney Lake High School:

There was an anonymous bomb threat at Bonney Lake High School. Pierce County Sheriff Department has thoroughly searched the building and has given the all-clear. Student and staff have returned to the building and dismissal is in process. Bus schedules remain the same and after-school sports are not affected.

The following is a parent advisory shared by the Sumner School District at 1:30 p.m.

There was an anonymous bomb threat at Bonney Lake High School today. Students and staff have been evacuated and are being held on the football field while the Pierce County Sheriff's Department conducts a thorough search of the school building. No students are being dismissed. Bus schedules remain the same and after-school sports are not affected.

We are expeditiously following all safety procedures and are appreciative of our police force, including the K9 unit.
