District Announces Appointment of Elementary Schools Assistant Principal

Andrea Landes will serve as an elementary assistant principal shared among Victor Falls, Crestwood and Emerald Hills elementary schools.

Superintendent Craig Spencer announced a new appointment in the Sumner School District -- Andrea Landes will serve as an elementary assistant principal shared among Victor Falls, Crestwood and Emerald Hills elementary schools.

“Andrea is a valued part of the Sumner School District. She has demonstrated a passion for helping all students achieve and a commitment to doing the right thing for kids and families," said Spencer. "A lifelong learner, Andrea has earned several degrees that have contributed to her success and the success of those around her.”

Landes started her career in the Sumner School District in 2008 working as an elementary librarian at Bonney Lake and Victor Falls elementary schools. She completed an administrative internship at Victor Falls, under the mentorship of Principal Beth Dykman.

This year, Landes was named Dean of Students at Victor Falls in addition to her role as a learning specialist. She also stepped forward to serve an additional role as a Teacher Leader in her building.

Landes is a graduate of the University of Washington in 1986 with a BA in Sociology and Elementary Education. She taught in the Northshore School District from 1988 to 1991.   She received a Master of Ministry from Northwest Nazarene University in 2005, a Master of Education and a Principal Certification in 2011.
