Free SSD Winter Workshop Features Early Learning Specialist from UW

This free event and family dinner is for parents of children 0-8 and hosted by the Sumner School District. It will feature a special guest from the UW, who will discuss the scientific values of play and conversation in early learning.

The Sumner School District is providing this free evening event, filled with information, resources and activities to enhance learning experiences for young children. The workshop is designed for those who work with children ages birth-to-eight, including childcare providers, preschool teachers, primary teachers, parents, grandparents, and community members.

Guest Speaker - Dr. Gina Lebedeva, University of Washington Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences (I-LABS)

How can we make the strongest impact through everyday interactions with young children?  We will discuss scientific evidence showing what specific components of play and conversations are most critical for children's learning and literacy development.

A free dinner is provided. Free STARS credits and clock hours available.

Early Learning Linkages Winter Workshop is provided FREE to parents, childcare providers, preschool to 3rd grade teachers, staff and community members within the Sumner School District boundaries. Registration fee for out of district participants is $25/person.  Fee will be collected at the door and checks can be made out to "Sumner/Bonney Lake Education Foundation."
