School Board Roll of Honor Recognizes Holiday Giving Around the District

The school board congratulated Sumner schools for the amount of holiday giving raised throughout December.

The Sumner School District Roll of Honor recognizes accomplishments, achievements, awards and other notable activities of and by students, staff and educators.  At regularly scheduled meetings of the School Board, President Richard Hendricks presents the Roll of Honor.  At the January meeting,  the Sumner School District Board of Directors acknowledged holiday giving around the District.

Hendricks noted, “While requests for support and assistance in our community are still increasing, the spirit of generosity continues throughout our schools.  Students, staff and families throughout the Sumner School District contributed to local food banks, senior centers and the Sumner Family Center to help assist neighbors in need during this holiday season, providing holiday baskets, gifts and clothing to numerous children and families.”

Sumner Family Center coordinated with schools throughout the District, other community organizations and businesses to fulfill the holiday wish lists of over 1,321 kids.
