Student of the Week: Bree Fealy

Sumner High School's student-body president is all about helping others -- and that includes giving free hugs.

Editor’s note: Every week, Patch will use five questions to profile a local student who has accomplished something awesome, whether it be serving in a leadership role; scoring the winning touchdown or earning an Eagle Scout badge. There are some great kids in our community, and we want to celebrate them!

This week, meet Bree Fealy, 17. Bree is the student-body president at Sumner High School, where she is a senior.

1. What are some of your accomplishments that make you our Student of the Week? I love being involved in my school. I've been in a leadership role all four years (freshman and sophomore class president, ASB treasurer and now ASB president) and a member of R.A.K.E club (random acts of kindness etc.), which does small acts of kindness around SHS and our community, including free hugs every Wednesday before school. I also received my varsity letter in community service through the United Way of Pierce County this past year.

2. What are your future plans? After high school, I want to attend Gonzaga University and major in business management. I am drawn to Gonzaga mostly because of the many opportunities they give their student body to serve one another, and hope to participate in their comprehensive leadership program. I am drawn to the business world because I think there is a better way of running our businesses, and I want to have an opportunity where I can lead a business the right way: through servant leadership.

3. Who is someone you admire?
Out of everyone, I admire my parents the most. They work hard every single day to support me and my brother in every little thing we do. They are definitely my biggest fans.

4. In 10 years, I will be … hopefully successful in my career, but more importantly, a successful family member and friend.

5. One of my hidden talents is …  I can do a pretty good British accent!
