The following reminder comes courtesy of Ann Cook, communications director for the Sumner School District:
As part of District budget reductions, all teachers in the Sumner School District have 2 furlough days this school year. A furlough day is regularly scheduled work day where staff do not work and are not paid, reducing payroll and matching the reduction in state allocation to the District of 1.9%.
February 14, 2013, is a half-day teacher furlough day; all students will be dismissed early.
There is another half-day furlough teacher day scheduled for March 29, 2013.
