Bonney Lake Soccer Coach Outlines Team's Journey Towards Becoming State Champs

The Bonney Lake High School boys soccer team took the State 3A Championship this past weekend.

Thank you to Randal S. Jones, Bonney Lake High School teacher and assistant coach of the boys soccer team for the following update:

Bonney Lake High School boys soccer made school and district history by winning the State 3A Championship on May 25. This is the first sports "team" State Championship in Bonney Lake High School's 8 years of existence. It is the first boys sport championship since 1977. The boys team made their incredible run by starting with a 10-0 undefeated SPSL 3A  League Championship (their 3rd since the school opened) and went undefeated through playoffs defeating Ft Vancouver, Lakeside, Shorewood, Hanford, and a win in the State Finals 1-0 against Shorecrest.   They finished their season 19-3, with the 3 losses coming only against state ranked Top 10 4A teams in preseason. They had the best defensive record in the state for any division with 15 shutouts and were ranked #1 in State 3A for the majority of the season. They lose seniors Zach Jones, Sui Silozi, Dalton Ogdon, and Moxie Oseland and return seven starters and multiple returning support players.
