Bonney Lake Swim Team Falls to Auburn Mountainview

Visitors kick up 123 points to the Panthers' 44, but several swimmers set best times in Sumner Pool.

Several Bonney Lake swimmers had their best times of the season, but personal victories were not enough to lift their team past Auburn Mountainview on Thursday at Sumner Pool.

The Lions scored 123 points to the Panthers' 44 in the 3A South Puget Sound League swim meet.

Bonney Lake's 200-yard Medley Relay, comprised of Janae Charbonneau, Emily Romano, Jessi Johnson and Ashley Yandt, took first place, in 2 minutes, 18.84 seconds.

"Our newcomers are making a big contribution," he said. "And the veterans are swimming their best times."

Yandt also won the 200 individual medley in 2:37.93, and is closing in on a districts time. Her second-place time in the 100 freestyle, 1:01.65, was a districts qualifying time, and a personal best.

Johnson and Romano took second in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, respectively. Johnson also finished second in the 100 backstroke; her time of 1:14.53 is a half-second off a districts time.
