Seniors Andrew Cunningham and Yolanda 'Yodi' Lawes led the Bonney Lake Panthers to a third place finish at last weekend's wrestling State Championship.

Bonney Lake wrestling placed third overall at Saturday’s Mat Classic Class 3A State Tournament, held at the Tacoma Dome.

The team scored 85 overall with many of those points, thanks to senior Andrew Cunningham, who claimed the championship title in the 120-pound division. Sophomore Colton Tracy finished second in the 113-pound weight class and Chili Sabin took third in the 160-pound category.

Senior panther Yolanda ‘Yodi’ Lawes took home the state grappling title in the 112 pound weight class, after only her second year of wrestling.

Senior Matt Yuste took eighth place in the 145 division, Jake Lueders placed fifth at 170 pounds and Evan Dorsey missed placing by one match.
