Breakdown: Bonney Lake has played two close games to start the season and escaped both with wins. After needing a huge second-half comeback and two overtimes to beat White River in the opener, the
Panthers took a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter against Sumner last week and held on for the 26-21 win. Bonney Lake quarterback Chris Brown has played a part in every Panther touchdown this season, throwing 10 touchdown passes through two games. Timberline is 0-2 on the season, including a 26=19 loss last week to North Thurston.

What: Sumner vs. Fife
Where: Sumner High School
When: 7 p.m. Friday
Breakdown: Sumner will face its second difficult opponent in as many weeks, looking to get beyond .500 on the season. The Spartans nearly completed the comeback last week against Bonney Lake, but fell just short to even their record at 1-1. Fife is 2-0 with victories over Olympia and Evergreen, and has surrendered just 14 points in its first two games. Rhyse Zenkner leads Fife with 178 yards rushing, while Tui Foa has rushed for three touchdowns and caused three fumbles for the Trojans.
